This year I must say was one of my best yet. I hate to be silly but I sure do love, love, love my new Camera. It is so fun to be able to take a shot when you want, not have to wait for the camera to decide it is ready. I can take 3 shots a second now, so every shot is a guaranteed winner. I have taken almost 2000 pictures since Christmas morning. I can hardly wait to take some fun shots of the mountains, I find myself looking for the perfect picture in every setting. I have plenty of great subjects to shoot with all my good looking/pretty children and Wife. Here are some random shots. Happy shooting.

Internet in the Kitchen
Here is a nifty way to put your favorite recipes on the kitchen counter without having to print them or search through gads of little food stained papers.
It is called VGA over Cat 5, Using the cabling already in my walls I can push the recipes that I look up on my desktop to the LCD TV in the kitchen. You can also stream movies and audio across another cat 5 cable. See the diagram for the VGA to Cat 5 pin out. Just make one for each end and you are set. Max distance for vga without a circuit board is around 50ft. Good Luck.
VGA Video connector pinouts:
Pin # – Signal Name – CAT 5 Conductor
1 – Red – Orange
2 – Green – Green
3 – Blue – Blue
4 – No Connection
5 – Ground – No Connection
6 – Ground – Orange/White

I love Snow
I love all this snow, it is a blast to plow it with my tractor. Makes it it a joy to move snow instead of a burden. Mason and I were smiling the entire time as we plowed through the 12″ of fresh snow. Plowed 8″ at 2:00 and 4″ more at 6:00, Good stuff.

Never pick a fight with a Tractor
I got up early this morning to put together another tractor, like I usually do in the mornings before work. I was taking apart the crate and when I took the last bolt out it exploded open right at me. I didn’t move because I knew it would hit my little CRV. The last thing that I remember was a hard hit on the head and a tire coming right for my face. There was a lapse of time (I think I may have been knocked cold) I kept working thinking it would feel better in a bit. Jodi came out a little later to have me come in for breakfast and said I was acting a little loopy, and then gave me a crazy look when she saw my face. I think it may have broke my nose but I made sure it was good and straight save me some coin instead of visiting the Doc. Lesson learned is next time let it hit the car instead of me.

Frozen in Time
Check out this spider web I noticed out on our deck this morning. I had to take a picture because it is not an everyday thing for me to see. That must be one tough web to withstand that much weight.

Scriptures, Pie, and Hot Chocolate
We invited Dad and Mom over tonight to help teach us how to mark scriptures “Parker Style”. It was a great experience to have Dad call out the Book, Chapter and verse then see the kids scramble to find them. What a great example they have for a Grandpa and Grandma, Grandma was diligently following along in her Portuguese scriptures. Dad would give a short discourse when we read each scripture. I was touched by Mason as he would mark his exactly like I did, making sure to darken the same key words as me. Lily was insistent that she found the page it was on even if she couldn’t read all the words. Alexis took it upon herself to get a head start and was marking her scriptures today during Sacrament meeting. “What greater joy than to know that my children walk in the ways of the lord…”. Jodi made some great banana creme pies and had to show us how great the Hot Chocolate maker worked too. Olivia was having a ball with Grandma telling her (grandma) “your sunny” (funny) and “your toot” (cute). As they were leaving it started to snow just a skiff, so I took advantage of it to cool off my cocoa. It was a great experience for all of us. Thanks Mom and Dad.

Love the mug! It isn’t very big though. I remember learning to mark scriptures in seminary with dad, how fun. Brooke doesn’t understand and she likes to color in her scriptures too.

Trevin and I were talking last night about our favorite 90’s ballads. That took me back to some good victory dance memories. I loved listening to that, thanks Stephen.

The Ultimate Gift Challenge
Tonight for FHE we made the commitment as a family to follow the admonition of the Savior in Matthew 5:38-39…
“Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth:
But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.”
Our challenge to all is that we treat others kind even when we may not have received the same treatment. I have found that I sometimes treat others how they treat me, that is a vicious and never ending cycle. I know it will be hard but can there be a better gift? Game on…
Vista, Flop of Flops
I have installed Vista and reverted back to XP 4 times now. I have tried both the x86 and x64 versions, but there are just too many downfalls to keep it installed. There are only two features that I miss when running XP but there are workarounds. I miss the instant search from any where in vista (Using Google Desktop or Windows Desktop Search on XP does the same thing) and the file copy handling features are nice to be able to replace all or replace none and also recover if the network or disk goes down. I am trying my best to be open minded about vista, but 3 minute boot ups and shutdowns, are killing me, not to mention it using 1G of RAM just running the OS. HD is always crunching and I have a Centrino Duo Core machine, 160GB Sata Drive, and 2 GB RAM you would think it could handle it. XP just blows it away for speed, performance, app compatibility, etc… My opinion it’s the flop of all flops. Wish MS would live up to it’s promises one of these days.
