Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious

Just the song for Alexis…she did a great job playing in her recital last night. I would like to hear how it went for Jodi. 🙂 I was in the hall with Olivia the whole time because she was a little out of control.

Mother may I?

Alright all of you “Green” wannabes! Now is the time to make a change. Stephen and I recently watched a show that is inspiring us to be more kind to our Mother Earth. It really isn’t that hard, we just need to be more conscience. One simple way we are making a change is by only taking 5 minute showers. What are you doing to make your “mother” happy? We want to know . . . so we can be better and pass on a good tradition to our kids. (I noticed some recycling bins over by the library for all of the Rexburg folk.) A little love goes a long way they say…GO GREEN.

Steph said…

Hear in Vancouver they take green seriously and everyone has 3 recycling bins and the school recycles all of the paper and even the organic food waste in the cafeteria. At home we try to cut down on water too but for us it is important to reuse plastic containers. Our recycling center only takes containers with an opening smaller than the bottom. Buy yogurt in a big container so you only have one to throw away instead of many. They are also good for left overs. Anyhow, I am kind of a green fan, in my Patriarchal Blessing it says I will help protect and preserve the environment. I don’t think I am a granola or anything but I am trying to be conscious of my ‘mother’. Thanks Jodi

They have recycling bins here, well acutually there are 3 bins for metal, plastic and glass and then just trash. They put cloths and other things that are useful by the bins and people just go by and get things they can use. We are very aware of water here too. Thanks for the advice.

Good reminder for us! We recycle, plus I have some big bags I try and bring them when I shop to cut down on plastic bags. Since I watched the go green Oprah show, I try to use less napkins too! Every little thing helps.

We do need to be more aware of our mother earth.. we have been trying to recycle more than usual and to turn our water off while we are brushing our teeth instead of letting it run the whole time…every little bit can help I guess.

Band Aides to the Rescue!

Friday night Olivia was out on the swing set. Lily gave her an underdog that went bad. She hit her head on one of the posts. While there wasn’t a speck of blood – my eyes could only detect a small scratch – she insisted that a band aid would make it all better. She went to our band aide location and here is what she came out looking like a few minutes later.

Meeting Great Grandma Baldwin

I am growing fast! Mom has been teasing me about my baby acne, claiming I look like I’m already going through puberty. It has been lingering for the past 1 1/2 weeks. 🙂 Really, she thinks I am adorable as can be and is proud as ever to show me off. In fact, tonight I got to meet some of my family on the Baldwin side! We went to Blackfoot for FHE and I was able to meet my Great Grandma Lila Vinnette Lemon Baldwin for the first time. She was so excited and happy to meet me, and of course thought I was just so cute!

A Weekend to Remember!

Sweet as can be!What a fun and memorable weekend! It all started Thursday night – our kids got out of school for Spring Break. Friday morning Stephen was up at the crack of dawn with a borrowed skidster and ready to go get some trees for our yard. He loaded up Lily and Mason and they went out to Hibbard and came home with many large quaking aspens! Very exciting and a lot of work for them. This is the first day mind you that we have been able to go outside and actually work in the yard, at this point there are still a few patches here and there of snow. After planting the trees everyone helped clean up the yard and worked extra hard. THANKS BE TO THEM!!! While they were outside, me and Josh were inside creating our own whirlwind. It was a very productive day. Stephen and I met up with the Parker couples (it was fun to have John and Michelle here) at Mill Hollow for some conversation and sweet treats.

Saturday was a special day for our niece, Kate. She was able to be baptized and confirmed by Rick. It is wonderful to know that she is pretty on the outside and especially the inside. We are proud of her and love her lots. We went to their house afterward and enjoyed some good food and company. My children were so excited about being outside again! They had some good games of basketball going and riding motor scooters and jumping on the trampoline, etc. We came home did a few more odds and ends around the yard and then had Eric, Magan, Grant, and Grace over. So much fun to see them – we don’t get to hang out with them very often. What a cute family! We broke out our 1980’s Nintindo and played the power pad. It was great. Thanks to Eric and Magan for coming over here to support us this weekend for Joshua’s blessing. As they were leaving I noticed that everyone had a little sunburn – a fun sign that Spring has Sprung!

Sunday morning was a bit hectic, but still exciting. It was fun getting little JT ready for his big day. He looked so handsome in the blessing outfit Grandma Baldwin got for him. How lucky we are that he is in our family. We love him very much! We appreciated everyone who came and showed their support and love for his special blessing day. We also appreciate those who weren’t able to come but sent their love. We came home and feasted once again and played some fun games and just enjoyed each other’s company. We found out that Uncle John is very limber – we know where Kenzie inherited this from. We also were able to find out what we would all sound like as pigs! We played the traditional Baldwin “BAG GAME” and “GRUNT PIGGY GRUNT”.

Monday we played some more and went bowling and had an ice cream party at Jana and Ryons! WOW – Spring Break ended up being productive, extra fun, and most importantly a special memory!

The Violin Teacher

Olivia is so funny. For the past few weeks, during the day and on into the night, she has been playing with my violin sculptures (there is a big and little one). She treats them as if he is her baby, claiming he has a poopy bum and even trying to feed him “like mom does”. She gets dish towels out of the kitchen for his blanket. He has even said the prayer with us and she also tried to take him to bed. I told her he is pretty hard and it might hurt if she rolls over on him. He has become quite the friend to her as he listens to her secrets. When I asked what his name was she said, “the violin teacher”.

Oops – I had a "blonde" moment!

For all those planning on attending JT’s blessing…I am sure that I was the last to figure out that JT IS IN FACT getting blessed on a fast Sunday, which means we’ll probably be fasting! Therefore, we are postponing the food get together until AFTER church (4 pm), so all of you righteous people can participate. See you all soon….by the way, no disrespect to all of the blondies!
