In Heaven

Alexis is in Heaven/Utah. She just loves being here with some of her favorite people.

She kicked off her stay spending time with Emily, a cousin who is extrememly busy generally but had a free day. We took them to the church museum at temple square. It was really enjoyable and they just loved the Child of God exhibit.

Next, we went to a park where she played tennis with me and cousin Jed (Bridget was at summer camp). He even gave he a quick tennis lesson when I had to go check on Livvy and JT. She was sad that she never got to go play again.

Wednesday she got to go with Grandma Baldwin to get her hair colored. She loves spending one on one time with grandma and was feeling very special. She even got to help grandma go shopping for a new missionary outfit.

Thursday we went to her favorite thing. We went to Pioneer Village at this is the place monument with Jed, Abby, Amy, Grandma B. She had so much fun learning about the pioneers and participating in some of the fun crafts and activities. She loved taking a pony ride and even held the snake around her kneck at the petting area! (side note: I forgot my camera, so I will get a photo that Amy took soon)

Friday we got to see the Parker cousins and went to a spray park. Lex and Halely had fun together along with all of the other kids. Then Friday night Bridget got to come over to Grandma B’s for a sleep over. We made some jewel flip flops that turned out so cute!

Saturday we spent time in nature at Bridal Veil Falls and then Lex was proud to have accomplished the “Y” climb. She missed out on it last year and did a great job.

Sunday includes a BBQ at Uncle Brad’s house with more cousin time – what fun for her.

Alexis absolutely loves ALL of her cousins to death, they are definitely her most favorite and bestest friends!

Who makes May 31 a special day!

Alexis celebrated her eleventh birthday yesterday! Birthdays are very exciting happenings at our home. Everyone was up at the crack of dawn ready to open presents – Alexis probably woke everyone up! It is fun to celebrate the birth of one we love so much and count our blessings that she gets to live with us in our family. We learn much from Alexis and she helps make our home and the world a better place.

Here are eleven things that happened on her 11th birthday:

1. Woke up to open some fun gifts.

2. Was surprised and loved her very own hair dryer.

3. Chose to eat German Pancakes for breakfast.

4. Helped Stephen get a load of gravel for under our playground.

5. Happy to talk to Grandpa and Grandma Baldwin on the phone.

6. Was excited her Uncle Scott remembered her birthday and called from Texas.

7. Went swimming in the little canal and muddy pond at our house with dad, Mason, and Lily.

8. Washed her hair and used her new hair dryer.

9. Performed in her first gymnastic recital and had a fabulous time – she really enjoys it and is anxious to learn more and get even better (she started nine weeks ago and is very close to doing a back handspring on her own!).

10. Chose to go eat dinner with her mom and dad at Subway(just us three – oops and sleeping JT), instead of having a party.

11. Blew out all eleven candles, and ate a piece of birthday cake at 10 ‘o clock at night!

She was also very excited to get to see and talk to Grandpa and Grandma Parker on Friday via Skype. She will cherish the special email they sent her!

Alexis is growing into a fine young lady. We are very proud to call her our daughter!

Fairy Tale Fifth Grade

Mrs. Galbraith’s fifth grade cast (our class) 2007-2008I was the Little Mermaid in my class fairy tale play last Thursday. We broadcasted it four times. Once for the fourth graders, once for the fifth graders, once for the sixth graders, and once for the parents! I was chosen by my teacher to introduce everyone and then close the show at the end. I had a lot of fun and hope to be in another play soon! Thanks Jana for trying to help me find a costume – I ended up using the one my teacher had. I hope you guys can be in a play too someday.

Introduction

Little Mermaid and Katie Lean

Mitzi, Erica, Me and Arian – friends from my class!

School without a Janitor?

I wrote this for a school essay contest. We were suppose to write in 100 words or less Who makes Kershaw a Great School and Why?

What would school be like without a Janitor?
By, Alexis Parker
What would happen if you came to school and found a big mess? Have you ever wondered how many helpful things our janitor does to keep our school clean? If the garbages never got taken out, our school would smell foul. Once I saw Mr. Chandler fixing a sink in the bathroom. What would it be like if we couldn’t wash our hands before we ate lunch or after we went to the bathroom? We would all get sick. I am glad that he puts paper towels in our bathrooms and makes sure there is soap too.

Thanks, Mr. Chandler!

That was a very thoughtful essay. Being thankful for those who help keep our world clean and neat is a real sign of maturity and goodness. Lots of people never notice the work of these people their whole lives. Even garbage men, street cleaners, and Moms fit in this categories. Keep up the good work Lexie.

I love having close friends! The other day I went to an awesome magic show, with 4 of my friends.(it was a birthday party for Christina Barrus)Then the next day my friend, Ashton Kirkham, from Idaho Falls came. Friend Day for Ashton and I is the 26th of every month – we got this number because my favorite number is 2 and Ashton’s is 6. That night I went to my friend, Shay’s and we played night games! Fifth Grade Program

On February 12th I had a fifth grade program at 7 pm. We sang songs, did speaking parts, and each class did a dance about America. Our class danced to the “Cotton Eyed Joe”. My friends’ class did the “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy”. I also got to do a clogging dance with 4 other girls and one boy, it was to “Finest Land”. My speaking part was, “The fourth plane was believed to be headed for the White House in Washington, but was crashed in a field in Pennsylvania.” I had a lot of fun, wish you guys could have been there.
