Four Months Old Now!

JT will officially be four months old tomorrow and we think he is as cute as ever! It is fun to see how responsive he has become. He is still very easy going and smiles easily, he even wakes up with a smile on. He loves to talk and blow bubbles and just showed us that he can roll over from tummy to back. (He hasn’t had too much tummy time with all of the people of the house holding him) He also let out a laugh last week, but isn’t giving them out too often. He went on his first hike the other day and got his first sun burn. He is now sleeping in his big crib in his room downstairs and most generally sleeps all night long. He is most happy when someone is talking to him.

We love our Joshua Taylor Parker!

Night life with JT

Ever since we have been in Utah (the last 10 days) JT has been living up the night life. I am not a fan! He has never kept me up at nights UNTIL NOW. I’m sure all of the time in the car seat during the day which promotes naptime isn’t helping. What is interesting is that he wakes up at the same time with a poopy diaper? Can’t wait to get home and on a better schedule.

This morning we experienced a first. Four previous babies and I’ve never seen this happen. Lily thought she would be a helper and started changing JT’s poopy diaper this morning. We were in a hurried frenzy to be on time for Grandpa and Grandma’s setting apart for their mission. Anyway, I walked in the room to catch Lily’s helpful deed and my blood pressure rose a few notches. This wasn’t a one wipe job, I started to take over when guess what happens? JT started urinating and it went straight into both of his eyes!!!! YIKES. Yes, I started screaming and throwing wipes like crazy. I quickly started wiping up liquids when he started doing it again, and like the first time it went in both eyes! I’m not sure about the precautions with urnine in the eye, he is still smiling at me when I talk to him so I don’t think he went blind. Hopefully that NEVER happens again.

The experiences that revolved around JT’s and Livvy’s body fluids (and solids) were too, too funny while you were in Utah. I know this is mean, but I am “sooo” glad I am out of those stages!

Little Dude

First off, I am going to give a disclaimer! I would like to thank JT for enabling me to spend so much time on the computer…he eats often, and this is when I am able to catch up on my journaling, etc. I kind of feel like a junkie though – what a life!

Anyhow, today JT went in for his two month old check up (he will be 3 months old in a week, but oh well). I am proud to report that he is now 11 lbs 7.5 oz and is 23 inches long.

He also received his first immunizations! The cute little dude was a little startled and upset when he got them, but was easily calmed down. It just doesn’t seem right when nurses come in and make your baby smile and coo and then poke him with a needle. It tears me up inside every time, but I know it’s for the best. AH….

Baby Legs

Mr. JT Baby LegsJT grew enough to finally fit into his “baby legs”. I think they are so fun and cute. They are basically leg warmers for babies and make diaper changing very easy. My sister-in-law, Magan, told me about them and we (Alexis, Lily, and I) had to get some for JT. They wanted some for themselves, but baby legs are a little spendy so we took a pair of old tights with holes in the feet and made some for Alexis and Lily. Older kids wear them for arm warmers…

JT is now two months old! He is cooing like crazy and smiling easily and often too. Such fun to have him around. The other night Stephen and I were hanging out with him and put him on his tummy. It was a fluke thing, but we both watched as he pushed himself over on his back. We were startled to say the least. He must be doing push ups in his sleep or something. Lily is just in love with the little guy. Every time (and I am not exaggerating!) she walks past him she kisses him on the head and stops to talk. She has been one of the greatest helpers to just hold him while I need to get something done. (Lex and Mason help too, but they are gone more often)

Alexis was JT’s first babysitter. Yesterday Stephen and I went for a ride with Jana and Ryon on our bikes!!!! I was proud of myself for being able to leave him for an hour (of course with cell phone in hand and a call to check in). Things went well and he survived without me.

Can’t believe how fast time goes by, before I know it he’ll be two years old. I am definitely enjoying every minute!

Meeting Great Grandma Baldwin

I am growing fast! Mom has been teasing me about my baby acne, claiming I look like I’m already going through puberty. It has been lingering for the past 1 1/2 weeks. 🙂 Really, she thinks I am adorable as can be and is proud as ever to show me off. In fact, tonight I got to meet some of my family on the Baldwin side! We went to Blackfoot for FHE and I was able to meet my Great Grandma Lila Vinnette Lemon Baldwin for the first time. She was so excited and happy to meet me, and of course thought I was just so cute!

Roll of Thunder Hear my Cry

JT One Month OldWow – What a month! What did my family ever do without me around? I am the most popular person around here – boy are they all proud of me. I am filling out some of my clothes too!

One of my past times these days is tooting and burping (just like my brother). Only mom thinks it is definitely more appropriate for me to do it! Sometimes my family has to ask around to see “who did it” because I can make sounds just like the big guys. Big sounds can come in small packages.

Oh ya, Dad finally got to witness and partake of one of my “showers” – he now feels like he is part of the club.

And tonight I got to go on a date with mom and dad. I even pleased them by drinking up my entire bottle!

Life is good here…

Three Weeks Yesterday

Look at me! I am growing fast and staying awake more often to my family’s delight. I have also given mom more than a few “showers” when she changes my diaper or gives me a bath. I have even shocked everyone with my projectile vomiting, which has occurred about once a day for the past week. I am now 7 lbs 6 oz and 20″ long.
