I lost my first Tooth

Today while we were doing our Saturday jobs, I noticed that I had a tooth that was getting loose. I quickly told Alexis and she said I should have dad pull it out with his Leatherman. I went and showed him and he pulled out his pliers from his pocket and said, “Are you sure?” I answered yes and he then hooked up the pliers and gave it one good tug. I was a little stunned, but when Alexis showed excitement I decided it was a good thing and began to smile and look in the mirror at it. Alexis let me borrow her tooth fairy pillow that Aunt Michelle made her so I could have the tooth fairy come tonight. I am so excited and my dad said I am brave.

American Idol Wannabe

I was fixing Lily’s hair for church Sunday and she informed me that she was going to be on American Idol and get three yeses from the judges. She even has her song picked out. It is by Gwen Steffani, “The Sweet Escape” – she hears it on the radio and it’s her “favorite in all the world”.

These photos are from a photo shoot that Alexis and Ashton (her friend)did of Lily on Saturday.

she’s big like i didn’t know

She came last night (the Valentine Fairy) and gave me a valentine. And she turned our milk pink. Yesterday after school Lexi told me about her, I even got to talk to her on the phone. She’s nice and really quiet. My mom took a picture of the Valentine Fairy and she looks big like I didn’t know. I thought she was going to be small with wings. We fed her cookies and left her two notes. Alexis knows her and is her friend and that is cool. She even looks like my sister, but she has a heart crown and it’s really beautiful. I want her to come again next year. She is really kind. We woke up at 6:28 am to see is she really came – and she did! Alexis also made pink heart pancakes for breakfast and dad mad pink coconut syrup – it was very cool. I can’t wait to go to school and see all of the valentine’s that people are going to give to me. I am giving out Barbie Island Princess Valentines.

Goodnight

So Stephen and I have noticed a little ritual that Lily does every night. Not only does she HAVE to sleep with her hot pink polka dot teddy bear that Aunt Stacie made her, she wants to have the last say. We tuck her in, read her a story and do the usual routine and then she says, “Goodnight Dad/Mom, (whoever gets the privilege)love ya, see ya in the mornin'”. If we reply, she quickly says the same thing over, until she is finally the last to speak. This hasn’t been working as well now that Olivia has caught on. (She shares a room with Lily) Now there is an constant echo of the same thing over and over. Stephen went down last night to answer the cries of Olivia in the middle of the night. He came back up and reported that Lily sat up in bed while he was there, still asleep and began repeating her ritualistic words. Even better Olivia started saying it too, so here it is 2AM and they are in the endless loop of who gets the last word. When asked about it this morning she had no idea what we were talking about. You’ve just got to love her!

Lily

Lovin’ it all Lily

Lily loved all of her Christmas treasures! She road (and is still riding) her Hello Kitty Scooter around the house all day long. She also loved feeling cool with her new computer. She absolutely loved having her Grandpa and Grandma Baldwin stay with us for the special occasion! This past week I was driving in my car with Lily and my niece Jessica. They were talking about Christmas and their presents. I got a good chuckle when Jessica said, “I wanted a Dora Cash Register, but I got a princess one instead.” To which Lily replied, “I got a princess watch, and I really wanted a Strawberry Shortcake one.” Jessica summed it up when she said, “I really didn’t get anything I wanted from my Christmas list, but I love everything I got!” That ended the conversation. It wasn’t that they were ungrateful, just noticed that Santa has his own little surprises. Kindergarten minds are full of innocence – I love it!

I believe in Tithing

Lily was so cute when at tithing settlement tonight. She trusted us when we told her she needed to pay her $4 tithing. On the way home she said, “It felt good to give my money…it will help people.” It reminded me of Adam and Eve when they offered their sacrifices, “I know not save the Lord commanded me”. If we could all become as a little child we would be so much better people today.
